Aside from never leaving your bike unattended, it is virtually impossible to completely prevent its theft. A lot of locks can be cut with either bolt cutters or a hacksaw, and even the most expensive ones can be defeated by a relatively inexpensive angle grinder. But even so, there are locks and locking methods that are substantially better than others, so here are a few things to consider if you want the highest level of protection next time you lock up your bike.
